Package Lost

Package lost is a serious delivery problem, but not every delayed package is lost. A package may look lost when tracking has not updated, delivery proof looks wrong, or the estimated delivery date has passed.

Package Tracking

Track Your Package

Enter your Package tracking number to check delivery progress and jump straight to the carrier's official tracking page.

How Do I Know If My Package Is Lost?

A package is more likely to be lost when tracking has no movement for a long time, the carrier cannot locate it, delivery proof does not match your address, or the seller confirms the shipment should have arrived.

Signs a package may be lost

  • The package has no tracking update for several days after the delivery window.
  • The tracking number works, but the shipment stops at one facility.
  • The package says delivered, but proof of delivery looks wrong.
  • The carrier opened an investigation and cannot find the item.
  • The seller confirms the package should have arrived.
  • The tracking page shows exception, damaged label, or unknown delay.

Do not assume too early

Many packages recover after missed scans, weather delays, customs checks, or depot backlogs. Use the latest tracking message before deciding the package is lost.

What to Do If a Package May Be Lost

  1. Save the tracking number, order number, and delivery address.
  2. Check Package Stuck in Transit first if the package still has movement.
  3. Check Package Missing if tracking says delivered.
  4. Contact the seller and ask about replacement, refund, or investigation.
  5. Contact the carrier if the seller asks you to or if the carrier lets receivers open a search.
  6. Keep screenshots of tracking, delivery proof, and seller messages.

Lost Package FAQs

Is a delayed package lost?

Not always. A delay can happen because of scans, weather, depot volume, customs, or route problems. A package becomes more concerning after the delivery window passes with no update.

Who refunds a lost package?

The seller or retailer usually handles refunds or replacements for online orders. Carrier claims depend on the shipment, insurance, and who paid for shipping.

Should I file a claim?

File a claim only when the seller or carrier process requires it. Some carriers only allow the sender to file because the sender purchased the shipping label.
