How Yodel Tracking Works
Yodel tracking shows the journey of your parcel through the Yodel delivery network. The result can show sender handover, depot scans, sorting, courier route updates, delivery attempts, collection options, and final delivery status.
- Find your Yodel tracking number or parcel ID.
- Enter the number into the tracking box.
- Check the latest parcel status, delivery progress, and scan history.
- Use the newest message to decide whether to wait, check a safe place, contact the sender, or ask Yodel for help.
Where to Find Your Yodel Tracking Number
You can find your Yodel tracking number in your dispatch email, retailer order page, seller dashboard, Yodel notification, delivery card, return confirmation, or parcel receipt.
If you bought something online, check the retailer’s delivery email first. Many stores add the Yodel parcel ID after they create the label or hand the parcel to Yodel.
Yodel Tracking Number Format
Yodel tracking numbers can use letters, numbers, or a parcel ID provided by the retailer. Some delivery cards or return receipts may show a different reference, so copy the full number exactly as shown.
If Yodel does not recognise the number, remove extra spaces and check that you copied the parcel tracking number instead of an order number. Ask the retailer or sender to confirm the correct reference if the number still fails.
Common Yodel Tracking Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Parcel Information Received | The sender created parcel details, but Yodel may still need to receive the parcel. |
| With Sender | The retailer or sender still has the parcel or needs to hand it to Yodel. |
| At Yodel Depot | The parcel reached a Yodel depot for sorting or local delivery preparation. |
| In Transit | The parcel moves through the Yodel network or waits for the next scan. |
| Out for Delivery | The local courier has the parcel and plans to deliver it soon. |
| Delivered | Yodel marked the parcel as delivered to the address, neighbour, safe place, or collection location. |
| Delivery Attempted | The courier tried to deliver the parcel but could not complete the delivery. |
| Left in Safe Place | The courier left the parcel in a safe place linked to the delivery address. |
| With Neighbour | The courier delivered the parcel to a nearby neighbour. |
| Delayed | The parcel needs more time because of depot issues, courier route delays, address problems, weather, or another interruption. |
| Returned to Sender | The parcel moves back to the sender or retailer. |
Yodel tracking updates can arrive after a depot scan, driver scan, store scan, return scan, delivery attempt, or safe-place delivery. Check again later if the parcel moved recently but the tracking page has not refreshed.
Why Is Yodel Tracking Not Updating?
Yodel tracking can stop updating when the retailer has created parcel details but has not handed over the parcel yet. It can also pause during depot sorting, courier handover, busy delivery periods, local route delays, or return processing.
Give the tracking system time to receive the next scan. If you have had the parcel number for more than a day with no tracking information, contact the sender and ask them to confirm the parcel number and handover.
Yodel Says Delivered but Parcel Not Received
If Yodel tracking says delivered but you cannot find the parcel, check your safe place, porch, letterbox area, garage, reception desk, parcel locker, neighbours, and anyone else at your address.
Look for a calling card, delivery photo, safe-place note, or neighbour message in the tracking details. Contact Yodel and the retailer if you still cannot find the parcel.
Yodel Delivery Attempted Meaning
Delivery attempted means the courier tried to deliver your parcel but could not complete the delivery. This can happen when no one answers, access fails, the address needs more detail, or the courier cannot leave the parcel safely.
Check the tracking result, calling card, retailer email, or Yodel message for the next delivery attempt, collection option, safe-place option, or support step.
Yodel Tracking Number Not Recognised
If Yodel does not recognise your tracking number, the sender may not have passed the parcel to Yodel yet. You may also have copied an order number, return number, or incomplete reference instead of the Yodel parcel ID.
Copy the number again from the dispatch email, delivery message, or receipt. If the number still does not work, ask the retailer or sender to confirm the tracking number and shipping service.
Yodel Safe Place and Neighbour Delivery
Yodel may leave a parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour when the delivery service allows it. Check the tracking result for a safe-place note, neighbour name, photo, or calling card details.
If the parcel does not appear in the location shown, contact Yodel and the retailer with your tracking number, delivery address, and order details.
Yodel Returns Tracking
Yodel return tracking can show parcel drop-off, store scan, depot movement, courier collection, return processing, and delivery back to the retailer. Keep your receipt until the retailer confirms the return.
Retailers may need extra time to process a refund after Yodel delivers the return. Check both the Yodel tracking page and the retailer’s return dashboard for updates.
Yodel International Tracking
Yodel mainly handles UK parcel deliveries, but some orders may involve a retailer, marketplace, or delivery partner before Yodel receives the parcel. Tracking can update after the parcel enters the Yodel network.
If the item started outside the UK, check the retailer’s tracking page and any partner carrier reference. Then check Yodel tracking again after the parcel reaches the UK delivery stage.
